🔐 How Hashing Protects You

Hashing creates a unique digital fingerprint (a long string of letters and numbers) for a file.

• The file never leaves your device. The tool (StopNCII or Take It Down) runs entirely in your browser or app.
• It generates a hash — a mathematical representation of that specific image or video.
• Only that hash (the fingerprint) is shared with platforms like Meta, TikTok, and Reddit.
• If someone tries to upload a file with the exact same fingerprint, it is automatically blocked from going live.

✅ Your privacy is absolute. No one sees your image. No copy is sent anywhere. The hash cannot be reversed to recreate your photo.

🚩 Warning Signs of Digital Stalking

If you notice several of these, take them seriously. Trust your instincts.

• Unexplained battery drain – Your phone dies much faster than usual (tracking apps and AirTag scans run in the background).
• Device wakes up / screen turns on when you’re not touching it (could indicate remote access or a camera/mic being triggered).
• Unknown Bluetooth devices appearing in your scan (especially if they follow you across locations).
• Accounts accessed from unknown locations – You receive login alerts from cities you haven’t visited.
• Friends or colleagues mention that someone has been asking about your schedule, location, or relationships.
• You feel watched even when you’re alone – this is your brain picking up on subtle cues (cars parked nearby, random phone calls at odd hours).
• Messages or photos appear that you didn’t send, or your social media posts are being shared without your knowledge.
• Physical items moved in your home or car (someone may have entered to plant a tracker).
